UFHS empowers members to manage their medical needs professionally yet cost-effectively while reflecting the shared values of faith and stewardship. At its core, UFHS follows the biblical teachings of generosity and mutual care:
  • Hebrews 13:16: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
  • Acts 2:44-45: “All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need."

How Does UFHS Work?

UFHS operates on a simple yet effective sharing system. Members contribute a monthly sharing amount, which is credited to accounts dedicated exclusively to them. These funds are then used to address the eligible medical expenses of other members of the community. This approach creates an affordable Christian-based alternative to traditional health insurance without relying on contractual promises.
UFHS is overseen by its management team and Board of Directors, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical practices for the benefit of all members.

Who Qualifies for Membership?

UFHS welcomes individuals who subscribe to fundamental Christian principles and commit to living by them as part of their membership. Its compassionate support is beneficial to both young and older adults.
Members 65 and Older: Elders are eligible for health care coverage using an alternative sharing schedule tailored to their needs. This schedule often surpasses reimbursements offered by Medicare and similar senior health care options.

Who Can Be Included in Your Membership?

UFHS understands that family is central to care and community. Membership may include members of the principal subscriber’s household, including:
  • Spouse
  • Dependent children (up to age 21)
  • Dependent grandchildren (provided they rely solely on the principal subscriber and spouse for financial support)

Is UFHS the Same as Traditional Health Insurance?

No, UFHS is not health insurance or any form of insurance. Unlike traditional insurance, which involves contractual promises made by third parties, UFHS operates solely based on mutual sharing and faith-driven community support. Members are not “insured,” and no contractual obligations exist to cover medical expenses. Instead, members voluntarily share in the costs of health care based on their faith and commitment to helping one another.
